On January 15, 2022, the Senate Speaker, Rt. Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, joined the population of Benga zone, in Isare commune of Bujumbura province, in community development works which consisted in concreting the classrooms of Bushaka Basic School, in laying the first iron sheet on an office of Benga village which is under construction, and also in the works of collecting stones which will be used for the pavement of the office of the chief of the village.
In his speech, Rt. Honourable Sinzohagera was pleased that the population of this locality has already understood that it is the natives themselves who must contribute to their development and took this opportunity to call on teachers to “increase the success rate course by course and class by class” as the theme that was set up by the parliamentarians elected in Bujumbura province indicates.
Rt Honourable Sinzohagera reminded them of the importance of the village leader’s office and did not fail to explain to them that this office will also be used by the village notables. In this regard, he reminded the population of this locality to elect the right people, and called on women to be elected during the next elections of the notables.
About the concerns expressed by the administrator and the governor, notably the lack of roads linking some communes, the Senate Speaker asked the communal administrator first to consult with his fellow administrators of Mubimbi and Mutimbuzi communes to find a concerted solution to this problem and then involve the natives in order to bring their support to any difficulties that might hamper that acivity.
The Senate Speaker advised the population to control births, screen for Covid-19 at least once a month, take ownership of development and many others.
