The First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye, joined the population of the Gisagara zone and commune, in Cankuzo province, on Friday, July 14, 2023, in the work consisting in digging the contour lines on the Ramba village.
Honourable Dénise Ndadaye called on the population of this province to get down to community development activities, pay taxes and duties, comply with the laws in force while reminding them that no one else will come to develop their country in their place.
At the end of her remarks, she handed over to the communal administrator of Mishiha an envelope equivalent to 50 bags of cement that she had promised, on behalf of the Senate, in order to support the building of a hospital.
After these works, the 1st Deputy Speaker of the Senate held a meeting in the chief–town of Gisagara commune with representatives of the population of Gisagara, Cendajuru and Mishiha communes to discuss the socio-economic life of these localities.
During this meeting, Honourable Dénise Ndadaye urged the participants to follow up the implementation of the vegetable garden project and the education of children. She also recalled the population to collect waste, increase production and reflect henceforth on the opinions and considerations to be submitted with regard to the abolition or resumption of the ethnic quotas stipulated in article 289 of the Constitution of the Republic of Burundi.
