The population of Nyabitsinda and Kinyinya communes urged not to waste the harvest

The Second Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honourable Cyriaque Nshimirimana, accompanied by some parliamentarians elected in Ruyigi province, visited on March 17,  2023, two large-scale agricultural projects belonging to the population grouped in cooperatives supported by the Institutional and Functional Support Programme to Agricultural Sector (Programme d’Appui Institutionnel et Opérationnel au Secteur Agricole (PAIOSA), in Nyabitsinda and Kinyinya communes of Ruyigi province, to see the preparations to be able to continue with their activities, when the PAIOSA mission ends.

The first project is being carried out in the marshes of Ntanga River, in Nyabitsinda commune, and consists in growing rice. The second project is growing maize, beans, bananas, soybeans and many others crops in Nyakibere village, in the zone and commune of Kinyinya.

Shortly after the visit to the rice farm, he went to the harvest storage shed on Nyarumuri village, Muhwazi zone, in the commune of Nyabitsinda.
