Under the high patronage of His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE, President of the Republic of Burundi, the Senate Speaker, accompanied by his wife, his first Deputy Speaker, senators and Senate executives, joined other high authorities of the country during the ceremonies of the 15th edition of the National Prayer Breakfast which took place at on march 26, 2024 in the town of Bujumbura in the premises of the hemicycle of Kigobe. The theme of this event was: “For whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7-10).
In his speech, the President of the Republic of Burundi provided advices to the country’s senior executives who were present. He urged them to maintain hope, to open their hearts, to avoid all forms of discrimination, to ensure good management of public affairs, to make the choice between sowing good or bad seeds, and to recognize that it is God who created the earth and that they must exploit it.
His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE also called on them to reject hypocrisy and to cultivate trust and empathy, because it is through these that they will be able to understand their neighbours’ needs. He also deplored the behavior of those who spend their time criticizing their country and urged them to pull themselves together.
In addition, he encouraged people to care about the education of children from a young age and to abandon the spirit of revolt, while keeping in mind that you reap what you sow. Everyone is called to raise their awareness and prepare their children in the perspective of an emerging Burundi by 2040 and a developed country by 2060.
Finally, he called on all Burundians to love one another.
