On Sunday, June 05, 2022, the Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, Senate Speaker, in the company of the parliamentarians elected in the constituency of Rumonge, joined the Christians of Mugara Pentecostal Church, in the commune and province of Rumonge, in a prayer of celebration of the feast of Pentecost.
The Right Honourable Sinzohagera, in his statement, reiterated the appeal launched to the population regarding the strengthening of love and social cohesion, and more specifically during this day when Christians have received the Holy Spirit who inspires and guides them in everything they do.
He reminded those Christians that this feast coincides with the month of June dedicated to patriotism, and took this opportunity to challenge Burundian citizens to consolidate love and build a prosperous nation.
During his preaching, the Senate Speaker and Legal Representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi focused his teachings on the merits of separating from sin to achieve eternal life. “One must live in righteousness, be guided by the Holy Spirit, read and love the word of God, pray to ward off evil spirits, repent and plead with God in case of sin,” he explained.
In the end, he stressed that we must do good works for our eternity since it is a supreme blessing.
On the sidelines of this prayer, the President of the Upper House of the Parliament visited a site where a new Church of the Pentecostal Christians of Mugara is being built. In order to support this Church during the work in progress, he promised to make his contribution.
In recognition for this visit, the Christians of this Church offered the Senate Speaker gifts consisting of food.
