On Sunday, July 13, 2025, the Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, Speaker of the Burundi Senate and Bishop of the United Methodist Church of Burundi and Rwanda, accompanied by his family, the Governor of Bujumbura Province, Major General Aloys Ndayikengurukiye, a senator elected in Bujumbura City, some Senate officials, and other administrative officials, joined the faithful of the Evangelical Pentecostal Church located in Bujumbura Province, Ntahangwa Commune, in a Sunday prayer.
Based on the Holy Scriptures from Deuteronomy 28:10 and John 1:12, the Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament and Bishop of the United Methodist Church of Burundi and Rwanda, the Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, invited the faithful to recognize their own value, since they are the most precious and respectable beings, because man was created in the image of God and, therefore, they have the right to call God “Father.” Every Christian must have precious time to dialogue with the Lord and take the appropriate time to give thanks to God for the blessings he has accomplished upon his life, he emphasized.
Concluding his homily, the Senate Speaker urged Christians to continue to have hope in God, walk according to God’s will, and respect the Holy Scriptures.
