From 04 to 06 December 2020, Right Honorable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, Senate Speaker, together with his wife, joined the faithful of the United Methodist Church of Kayero Parish, in Mpinga-Kayove commune of Rutana province in a prayer crusade organized by that Parish.
In his message to participants in that crusade, Right Honorable Sinzohagera called on all Burundian citizens to learn to live peacefully and in harmony by avoiding any conflict whatever its origin.
He said that it is thanks to the peace that they will be able to go about their development work quietly.
In addition, the Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament reminded that the Government created a Youth Bank. In that regard, he asked the youth of the United Methodist Church to develop plans to benefit from loans from that Bank for self-development.
Furthermore, he reassured that the Government intends to set up a Women’s Bank. So, he asked them not to be left behind in development.
The Senate Speaker took that opportunity to provide them with advice on preventing Covid-19 by respecting hygiene measures.
In his preaching, Honorable Sinzohagera centered his teachings on the Word available in the Book of Chronicles 4: 9-10. In that regard, he asked the participants in that crusade to know what to ask of God and not to wish their enemies harm.
At the end of that crusade, the faithful of Kayero Parish distributed aid consisting of blankets to vulnerable families and the elderly in that locality. They also gave various gifts including a heifer to the Senate Speaker.
