December 4, 2020Wednesday, December 02, 2020, the Senate Speaker, Right Honorable Emmanuel SINZOHAGERA, together with the Second Deputy-Speaker of the Senate, Honorable Cyriaque NSHIMIRIMANA and other senior executives of that Institution, received in audience the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-CIRGL), Ambassador Onyango Kakoba.
Exchanges with the Senate of the Upper House of Parliament focused on the presentation of the operation of the FP-CIRGL structures.
Ambassador Kakoba was also carrying a congratulatory message to Burundi Senate Speaker for his new duties as Speaker of the Upper House of the Burundi Parliament.
During exchanges, given that Burundi Senate is not represented in FP-CIRGL structures, Right Honorable SINZOHAGERA also suggested that Burundi could have a place in that regional Institution.
Other subjects that were discussed during that audience concern the respect of the commitments of the FP-CIRGL in terms of non-aggression pact between the member States, the challenges related to the means coming from the bilateral partners, the organization of meetings to deal with the issues that haunt the Great Lakes Region, etc.
