On Saturday January 20, 2024, the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, accompanied by his wife, parliamentarians elected in Bujumbura City and some senior officials of the Senate, joined the population of Muha commune, Kanyosha zone , Nkenga-Busoro district, in Bujumbura Town in the construction of a gutter aimed at evacuating rainwater.
During his speech, the Speaker of the Senate first praised the remarkable efforts made by the population of this locality. He stressed that this initiative demonstrates their deep understanding of the fact that it is through their own commitment and dedication that they can contribute to the construction and development of their country.
Right Honourable Sinzohagera called on the population to pay particular attention to the development of the infrastructure necessary for the evacuation of rainwater. He encouraged them to work diligently and urged local authorities to work closely together to develop urban plans aimed at beautifying their respective neighborhoods.
Aware of the importance of financial resources for the development of the country, the Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also encouraged the population to pay their taxes.
