In the afternoon of Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the Speaker of the Senate, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, flew to Rabat in the Kingdom of Morocco, where he participated in the 11th Conference of the Association of Senates, Shoura and Equivalent Councils of Africa and the Arab World (ASSECAA), which runs from 03 to 05 March this year.
During this Conference, participants discussed Afro-Arab cooperation and solidarity, a fundamental pillar of economic rehabilitation and development in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. They also addressed the theme of “the youth and women, at the heart of development policies and sustainable investments“.
This Conference also dealt with issues related to the role of ASSECAA in economic strengthening and especially South-South cooperation.
In addition, they explored issues related to realities and perspectives in the field of trade, climate and health justice.
During his stay in Rabat, the Right Honourable Sinzohagera met the heads of delegations, with the aim of strengthening cooperation relations between the parliaments of their countries and that of Burundi.
