The Senate Speaker, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera carried out, on March 28, 2024, a visit to the communes of Rugazi and Bubanza of Bubanza Province with the aim of inquiring about the progress of the rehabilitation of the provincial road 104 linking Muzinda and Musigati, executed by Burundi Road Agency (ARB) under the supervision of the Ministry having the infrastructures in its attributions and a National Centre for Artificial Insemination and Genetic Improvement of Randa, a project of the Ministry responsible for Livestock.
After visiting these places, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera indicated that the ARB encountered difficulties during the completion of this construction. Those difficulties are related to insufficient staff, budget and material supply. Notwithstanding this, he appreciated the new strategy that the Burundi Road Agency is using to relaunch this work.
As for the National Center for Artificial Insemination and Genetic Improvement (CNIAAG) in Randa, he first visited the forage area and the large livestock stables. He indicated that the achievements are satisfactory despite the difficulties. Therefore, he called on the Ministry responsible for livestock to support this project so that it should produce improved breeds without resorting to foreign countries. He also called for training other necessary veterinary technicians and doctors who can help to the improvement of animal production.
In the end, he made a guided tour of the laboratory of this centre where he has been informed of its operation and the techniques used to obtain seeds.
