The TRC delegation received in audience by the Senate Speaker

On December 15, 2021, the Senate Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Sinzohagera, received in audience the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) delegation, led by Mr. Clément Noé Ninziza.

This delegation came to present, to the Senate, the report of the TRC achievements for this year.

The Rt. Hon. Sinzohagera appreciated the work done by the TRC during the year 2021. The work essentially focused on the events of 1972.

The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also stressed that on the basis of the population’s concerns collected during the visits, 50 years should be considered as a jubilee period and a new starting point that could coincide with the mutual forgiveness between the perpetrators and the victims.
