On Friday November 05, 2021, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honorable Dénise Ndadaye, accompanied by some parliamentarians from Makamba constituency, gathered the local representatives and the administrators of Makamba and Vugizo communes, in the chief-town of this province.
In their talks, they focused on issues related to the socio-economic and security situation.
During this meeting, Honorable Dénise Ndadaye, in her remarks, indicated that, as part of the visits on the field organized by Parliament, during this period of parliamentary recess, she had come to discuss with them and hear the population’s concerns, find solutions and transmit to the authorized bodies, those which do not find an immediate solution.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Upper Chamber of Parliament invited the youth and women from these localities to come together in associations to carry out development projects.
She also called on them to continue to preserve peace and security, fight against corruption, drunkenness, unwanted pregnancies and cohabitation.
Honorable Dénise Ndadaye also called on them to prepare to choose good leaders, who will be members of the village bodies.
In addition, she called on these local representatives to raise the population’s awareness about buckling down to development work to fight poverty, protect the environment, fight against malnutrition by consuming in particular fruits, vegetables, seeds, termites and mushrooms.
Honorable Dénise Ndadaye also asked the population of these communes to buckle down to breeding activities, while respecting the law on the permanent keeping in sheds for domestic animals, to increase the milk and manure yield, and contribute to the reduction of disputes related to the straying of the latter.
Moreover, she presented the qualities of a good administrative leader, including love of work, punctuality at service, social sense and diligence at work.
The participants raised preoccupations, among others, the need to rehabilitate the roads connecting Makamba commune to Kibago and Vugizo communes as well as the one connecting it to Bururi province, etc.
Shortly before this meeting, Honorable Dénise Ndadaye had joined the population at the chief-town of Makamba province, in work of bringing the sand closer to the building that will serve as provincial offices, whose construction is at the finishing level. The First Deputy Speaker of the Senate gave a contribution of 30 bags of cement.
After this work, she visited the modern football stadium, ‘‘Nkurunziza Peace Park Stadium” in Gisenyi. She visited also a tree seedling nursery located near Makamba parish.
These activities were also attended by the Governor of this province as well as the administrators of Makamba and Vugizo communes.
