Honourable Clotilde KAMPIMBARE, Second Deputy speaker of the Senate, traveled to Rutana commune in Bururi province, where she delivered aid, on behalf of Burundi Senate, to orphans at St. Joseph Orphanage in Kivoga zone and to people with disabilities in Gakwende, Nyakuguma zone. The aid consisted of notebooks, rice, and soap. This took place on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
In her message, Honourable KAMPIMBARE encouraged these orphans and people with disabilities to study diligently and avoid distractions. She asked everyone to help these individuals prepare for a better future.
Drawing on the existing agricultural and livestock projects undertaken by the Center for People with Disabilities, the Second Deputy speaker of the Senate encouraged the center’s director to continue these efforts to contribute to achieving the vision of an emerging Burundi by 2040 and a developed Burundi by 2060.
Furthermore, she urged the residents of the locality to cultivate avocado trees to generate foreign currency, which the country needs. On this occasion, Honourable Clotilde KAMPIMBARE promised to provide two soccer balls and two sewing machines to the people with disabilities in Gakwende.
It should be noted that this center was established in 1993 and currently houses 63 people with disabilities, including 30 boys and 33 girls.
