On the afternoon of Saturday April 6, 2024, the Senate Speaker and native of the Bujumbura Province, Right Honourable Emmanuel Sinzohagera, participated in a meeting and ceremonies of exchange of wishes with the natives of this province, members of the association “Solidarity for Peace and Development of the province of Bujumbura” (SOPADEBU), in the headquarters of Kabezi commune.
During the meeting, participants discussed the socio-economic life of their province and explored ways and means to promote its development.
In his message, the Right Honourable Sinzohagera called on the natives of this province to strengthen the bonds of love and solidarity. He also asked administrative officials to ensure fair justice.
In the event of conflict resolution through the courts, he advised Burundians in general, and natives of this province in particular, to respect the decisions rendered by the courts.
The Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament also urged the administrative officials of this province to fight against polygamy, to carry out the drinking water supply project, to promote education and to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of development of Burundi: an emerging country by 2040 and a developed one by 2060. He expressed his hope that a lasting solution to the flooding in Gatumba, in Mutimbuzi Commune, would be found.
