SUMMARY REPORT OF THE PLENARY SESSION OF NOVEMBER 17, 2022

The year two thousand and twenty-two, on the seventeenth day of November, the senators met in the hemicycle of the Senate for the 111^th plenary session of the sixth legislature relating to the approval of a candidacy for the post of the third Burundian Ombudsman.

The session was led by the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Honorable Denise NDANDAYE, and was attended by 27 senators. It began, as usual, with a prayer at 3:05 p.m.

Opening the session, the First Deputy Speaker of the `Senate welcomed the honorable senators present before presenting them the name of the candidacy while recalling that the approval will be done in accordance with article 245 of the Constitution of the Republic of Burundi.

Afterwards, the honorable senators proceeded to the written vote of Mrs KANYANA Aimée Laurentine which was unanimously approved by the 39 senators including 27 present and 12 proxies.

After the approval, the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate invited the honorable senators to enhance with their presence, the ceremonies relating to the celebration of the day dedicated to the heroes of the struggle for Peace and Democracy in Burundi which will be held in Ruyigi, November 19, 2022.

The session, which took place in an atmosphere of perfect harmony, ended with a prayer at 3:25 p.m.
